He was banned from driving for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay costs of £185 and a victim surcharge of £85

Emergency services including the Magpas air ambulance were called to the services at 1.40pm following the incident. However, despite the best efforts of paramedics, Mr Guillaume died at the scene from the injuries he suffered.

Following the incident, friends of Mr Guillaume contacted the Peterborough Telegraph to pay tribute to the 54-year-old.

His good friend of 15 years Pierre Girod said: “It’s a bit ironic but Daniel had his own page on Facebook to pay tribute to the lorry drivers who died at work.”

Mr Guillaume was an experienced French International lorry driver working for haulage company TFD, based near Tours in France, he left behind a wife and two daughters.
