RAF Upwood, not far from Ramsey, was subject to two arson attacks in April, and a month later the site has been targeted again.

The first fire was started in the open not long before 10pm on Friday, which was quickly extinguished.

However, around 40 firefighters were then called out at around 6pm on Sunday after a large, derelict building was set on fire, with the flames spreading to the roof.

Rubbish elsewhere on the site was also torched.

Firefighters came from Ramsey, Chatteris, Huntingdon, Sawtry, Dogsthorpe, Stanground, Yaxley and Manea.

They did not return to their stations until 11pm as they worked to put out the blaze.
