Appeal for help as community wellbeing garden in Peterborough vandalised
An appeal for help has been issued after a community garden in Peterborough was vandalised.
The Cross Keys Homes Wellbeing Garden, located off Olive Road in Dogsthorpe, was hit by vandals on Friday (March 13).
Several fence panels were broken and graffiti left on wooden structures in the garden.
The garden is a volunteer-led green space with its own greenhouse and an array of plants and flowers. The garden is a safe environment for people to come together with others, get some exercise and fresh air and build confidence.

The garden is open publicly on Wednesdays between 1pm and 3pm.
On Wednesday (March 25), the garden will host the first event of its season with its ‘Clean to Green.’
This will begin with a 12:30pm meet for tea and toast at Woodfield Park in Welland, followed by a litter picking walk to the wellbeing garden.
After arriving, there will be a planing workshop and seed bomb making as well as refreshments.
In order to prepare for the event, Cross Keys Homes has appealed for help to get the garden ready on Wednesday (March 18) between 1pm and 4pm.
A spokesperson for Cross Keys said: “We need to get ready for our first event of the season on March 25 and we would really appreciate if anyone could help us out to get it looking it's best again.
"We will be at the garden on Wednesday between 1pm and 4pm if anyone can help us - all help is gratefully received!
“Our garden is a wonderful community space, run by volunteers, that give people a chance to be in nature and for wildlife to flourish.”
