Appeal after near miss on Peterborough parkway

Police are appealing for witnesses after a car nearly collided with a police vehicle dealing with an incident on a Peterborough parkway.

Police said the incident happened on the Frank Perkins Parkway this morning, as officers were setting up a lane closure.

A spokesman said : “This morning two officers were conducting a lane closure on the Frank Perkins Parkway when a small black car collided with the line of traffic cones which they had just laid down.

“As a result, this car narrowly missed the marked police vehicle which was displaying its blue lights to warn traffic. This incident could have caused serious injuries to all involved and can be easily avoided if drivers pay attention to the road.

“If anyone witnessed the incident or has Dash Cam footage, please call 101 quoting incident 100 of today.“
