The 18 drink and drug drivers caught putting lives at risk in and around Peterborough - including woman FOUR times over limit

Nearly 20 drink and drug drivers have been banned from the roads after being caught behind the wheel in and around Peterborough while under the influence - including one woman who was more than four times over the limit.

Tracey Shepherd (55) was more than four times over the limit when she was stopped on Burn Street, March on June 12 this year.

Shepherd, who lives on Burn Street, was driving a Ford Focus, and gave a reading of 162 microgrammes (ugs) of breath in 100 millilitres (ml) of breath. The legal limit is 35ugs.

She was given a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to take part in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for 50 days. She was also banned from the roads for 40 months, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128 and costs of £105.

Gul Fraz (42) of Lincoln Road, Peterborough was more than three times the limit when he was stopped by police on September 1.

Fraz, who was driving a Skoda Octavia on Sandringham Road, gave a reading of 123ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work, and pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. He was banned from the roads for 30 months - but the disqualification can be reduced by 30 weeks if the drink driver rehabilitation course is completed by 20/7/22.

Harry Porteous (19) of Towler Street, Peterborough was more than twice the limit when he was caught on September 5 this year. He was driving on Rectory Lane, Elton, when he was stopped and gave a breathalyzer reading of 84ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was fined £250, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85. He was banned from driving for 20 months - the ban can be reduced by five months if the course is completed by 14/11/21

Orlando Santos was banned from driving for 16 months after being caught drink driving on September 5 on London Road. He was behind the wheel of a VW Touran when he was stopped, and gave a reading of 57ugs in 100ml of breath. Santos, (43) of Clayburn, Peterborough, was fined £400, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and costs of £85. His 16 month ban can be reduced by four months if he completes the course by 14/8/21.

Gerard Kinlan (37) of Fellowes Gardens, Peterborough was caught driving while under the influence of cocaine, benzoylecgonine and methamphetamine on February 23 in Braybrook.

Kinlan, who was also uninsured and driving without a licence, was given an eight week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and was banned from the roads for 36 months.

He was also fined £150, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £182 and costs of £85. He also admitted driving with no insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence on a second occasion on Whittlesey Road in April. He was fined £150 and had six points put on his licence as a result.

Kevin McSwiggan (40) of London Road, Peterborough was fined £250 after he was caught drink driving on July 30. He was driving a Mini Cooper on The Dell when he was stopped, and gave a reading of 64ugs in 100ml of breath. Along with the fine he was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge, £85 costs and was banned from driving for 16 months.

Muhammad Naveed (29) of Kings Close, London, was banned from driving for two years after he refused to give a sample of breath after being stopped while driving in Sawtry on September 11.

He was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, and to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and costs of £105. His ban can be reduced by 24 weeks if the course is completed by 1/3/22.

Gheorghe Maftei (29) of Lincoln Road, Peterborough, was caught drink driving on Lincoln Road on September 1. He was driving a Volvo S40 when he was pulled over, and gave a reading of 51ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was fined £230, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months - but the ban can be reduced by 13 weeks if the course is completed by 19/5/21.

Yanick Beresford (24) of HMP Peterborough was stopped on the A141 near Huntingdon on April 14.

He tested positive for cannabis. He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court last month, and was fined £120, , given a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85 and banned from driving for 15 months.

Ryan O'Hea (24) of High Street, Chatteris, was stopped in Horsegate Gardens on September 5. He was driving a Seat Leon when police pulled him over, and he later gave a reading of 48ugs in 100ml of breath.

O'Hea was fined £250, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85, and banned from the roads for 12 months. The ban can be reduced by 13 weeks if he completes the course by 19/5/21.

Dmitrijs Bondarenko (36) of Brigstock Road, Wisbech, was stopped while driving a Mercedes on Bourges Boulevard on September 5. He gave a reading of 74ugs in 100ml of breath - more than twice the limit. HE was ordered to take part in 80 hours of unpaid work, fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34. He was banned from the roads for 20 months - but that ban can be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes the course by 29/11/21.

Arturas Ganevicius (32) of Park Avenue, King's Lynn, was stopped at the Elm Hall Roundabout in Wisbech on September 4. He gave a reading of 92ugs in 100ml of breath.

He was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, and pay a victim surcharge of £95 and £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for two years - but the ban can be reduced by 24 weeks if the course is completed by 3/3/22.

Darius Lubys (34) of Acacia Avenue was fined £500 for drink driving after he was caught on September 5 in Lincoln Road.

Along with the fine he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £50 and costs of £85. He was banned for 17 months - the ban can be reduced by 17 weeks if the course is completed by 19/9/21.

Ebrima Bayo (47) of Pyhill, Bretton, was stopped on the A47 Soke Parkway on September 6. He gave a reading of 47ugs in 100ml of breath.

Bayo was fined £80, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85, and banned from the roads for 14 months. His ban can be reduced by 14 weeks if he completes the course by 11/7/21.

Deividas Guscius (27) of Maple Road, London was stopped on the Fletton Parkway on September 6 in a VW Golf.

He gave a reading of 66ugs in 100ml of breath, and was fined £120, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £85. He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months - the ban can be reduced by 18 weeks if the course is completed by 13/10/21.

Catalin Roata (28) of Muskham, Peterborough, was caught driving a Chrysler on Westfield Road on August 2 while over the limit. He gave a reading of 97ugs in 100ml of breath. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95, costs of £85, and was banned from the roads for 26 months. His ban can be reduced by 26 weeks if the course is completed by 22/4/22.

Roata also admitted driving with no insurance and driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.

Vilius Valatkevicius (22) of Harrys Way, Wisbech, was banned from driving for 12 months after admitting drug driving.

He was behind the wheel of a Transit van when he was stopped in New Road, Wisbech on February 2, and tested positive for benyolecgonine.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, and was fined £120, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85.

Renee Benstead (39) of Davie Lane, Whittlesey was banned from driving for 20 months after being stopped on Drybread Road on August 24.

Along with drink driving she admitted driving with no insurance.

She was also fined £80, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £105. Her ban can be reduced by 20 weeks if she completes the course by 7/12/21.

The drink drive rehabilitation course is a discretionary option magistrates and district judges can offer some drivers if they are caught drink driving. Th course - which costs a maximum of £250, is not mandatory , and must be paid for by the drink driver.

The victim surcharge is a sum of money which is added to many sentences in both Magistrates and Crown Court, and is paid into a national pool of money to help all victims of crime.
