Drug dealer from Peterborough who tried to flush evidence down the toilet after running from police is jailed

A drug dealer who tried to outrun police and then flush evidence down a toilet has been sentenced.

Brock Genovese, 22, ran after spotting police walking along an alleyway from Western Avenue, in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, on 20 August, 2023.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “He ran off and entered a block of flats where he was arrested. He was discovered in the bathroom with drugs scattered around him and £387 in cash.

“He was arrested after police spotted the drugs and before he could flush them down the toilet. A further search of the property revealed more than 100 wraps of cocaine and heroin in a gilet.

Both men appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on 21 November having previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs – cocaine and heroin.

Genovese, of Figtree Walk, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, was sentenced to two years in prison suspended for two years and Duffield one year and three months suspended for 15 months.

DC Joe Passby said: “Drug dealing will not be tolerated on our streets, and we will continue to do everything we can to prevent it.”
