Commuters warned A1 closed in both directions north of Peterborough, and likely to remain so, after multi-vehicle crash
Commuters on the A1 heading north from Peterborough today are being warned the road is closed in both directions and is likely to remain so for several hours.
Two lorries, a van and several other vehicles have collided and closed the A1 both ways between Beckingham Road and A46 near Newark.
The accident happened on the Northbound side, but one of the lorries has overturned across the central reservation.
The Lincs and Notts air ambulance is on the scene.
Police have said the road is likely to remain closed for many hours causing long delays for commuters on one of our regions arterial routes.
