It also offers the chance for you to become part of the art work and be a volunteer ‘art librarian’.
The Art Lending Library includes paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures, as well as video, and even performance. It follows the model of a public lending library where members of the public can join free of charge and borrow books. Here you can select an artwork to be delivered and installed in a place of your choosing to enjoy for four to seven days.
The Art Lending Library was originally commissioned for Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art in 2012. This exhibition includes artists from the inaugural show as well as additional local, national and international artists selected by Metal and other local arts organisations such as Art in the Heart, Creative Peterborough and Peterborough Artists Open Studios.
The library will open to the public on Saturday, March 5 and run until Thursday, March 24.
If you would like to get involved contact [email protected] or call 01733 893 077.
More details of the library, how to join or borrow art work, will be released shortly.
