The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on animals that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.
There are many that do such a great job of rescuing and rehoming animals, such as the Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA and Wood Green The Animals Charity. Both have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.
Below are a selection of those animals that are less common and smaller but no less rewarding to have as pets and are in need of their forever home.
To find more details about the birds and to search for more rescue animals, visit www.rspca.org.uk/findapet/rehomeapet/process or to enquire about any of the other animals visit woodgreen.org.uk/find-a-pet/find-an-outdoor-pet.

13. Rodney - Domestic
Introducing Rodney! Rodney is a castrated male guinea pig looking for a lovely lady pig or 2 (or 3 or 4 or 5!!) to live happily ever after with. Rodney came into our care along with his brother Mickey, they were both entire males and really didn't get on, Rodney was definitely the boss! Rodney is a confident inquisitive young man who will wheek and wheek and wheek at the slightest rustle of a bag of greens! He loves his food! He is a friendly nosey boy who will come running over to you to checkout what food you have on offer. He isn't keen on being picked up and can be quite wriggly. Photo: Midlands

14. Lucario - Budgerigar (5 years)
Lucario is a very handsome budgie looking for a new home where he will have access to an aviary large enough for him to fly freely and where he can be introduced to other budgies for company. Photo: Midlands

15. Curtains and Combover - Crested (0-3 months)
Curtains and Comb-over are both very friendly confident little piggies and would make ideal friends for any household. We are looking to rehome them as a pair and they need to be housed indoors as they are still very young and not used to the outside world. Curtains and Comb-over were born in a foster home and have been showered with love and care. Both brothers will be adopted with neutering vouchers, which can be used when they are 4 months old. This will to help them stay together will no falling out or squabbling. Photo: Midlands

16. Bruce - Budgerigar (3 years)
Bruce is a 3-year-old male budgie seeking an aviary home and more budgies to share it with. So far he has lived alone indoors so his new aviary must be indoors or with a heated and insulated area if outdoors. The aviary must be big enough to enable him to fly without his wings or tail touching perches or the sides as he moves so that he may indulge in normal bird behaviours. Photo: Midlands
