Plans for new HMO above bakery and takeaway in Peterborough

Plans have been submitted for a new HMO above a bakery and takeaway in Peterborough.

The plans are for the first floor offices at 393-395 Lincoln Road, on the junction with Stone Lane, which sit above Nafees Bakers and Sweets plus Pepe’s Fast Food.

The offices are currently sublet to different occupiers.

Plans submitted by M A Iqbal Architecture are to convert the offices into an eight-bedroom HMO with a communal kitchen area, communal dining area as well as male and female shower rooms.

The application states that: “The proposal is to provide a high-end be er quality HMO facility for the occupiers who are looking for this facility.

"The proposal is in an ideal location as the area surrounding is predominantly residential and situated

within the locality.”

No alterations are proposed to the exterior of the property and there is already an existing independent access from Stone Lane leading to the first floor offices.

Eight car parking spaces will be provided, this is down from ten already assigned to the users of the office.

The application states that the owners are “concerned” that should the application be refused then the property “may attract unwanted attention to the street as derelict premises are always at risk of vandalism and anti social behaviour.”

Peterborough City Council will now consider the application, which can be viewed on its planning portal using reference 26/002057/FUL.
