Popular burger bar Higgsy's enters new era as city centre restaurant officially opens

Higgsy’s has officially opened a brand new restaurant in the city centre.

Fans of the business run by Adam Miler and Amber Higgs have been eagerly waiting for the grand reopening almost four months after Huntingdonshire District Council shut down its operations from their layby on the A15, close to Yaxley.

In that time, Higgsy’s has found a new home on Cowgate.

Higgsy’s- voted as producers of Cambridgeshire’s Best Burgers in 2024 and 2025- has moved into the former home of The Shed Smoke House and the Pizza Parlour, located at 5 Fortune Buildings.

The food offering is set to remain authentically Higgsy’s with the popular Daisy Duke and Red Neck burgers not going anywhere!

Instead, the offering if set to be boosted by the option to book a table but this is not required as well as by a new bar.

This will see Higgsy’s serve a new range of milkshakes with the option of upgrading to ‘Hard Milkshakes,’ which will see the classic milkshakes paired with alcoholic options such as Chocolate and Baileys, Vanilla and Bourbon, Cherry and Rum and Strawberry and Tequila.

The restaurant will be open for two windows a day for those wishing to grab a Higgsy’s at lunch time or in the evening. The opening hours will be between 12pm – 4pm and 5:30pm – 9pm.

Adam said: “It was a match made in heaven when taking on this unit was put to us. It was definitely an easy decision, we knew we had to make this jump and we think its where the brand should be.

“We have had so much support from our customers since we announced we would be making the move and we’ve already had quite a few table bookings. That was been humbling for us. It is nice for them to be trusting us with their evening.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve been serving customers on a regular basis and we are really looking forward to it.

"We'll get the music playing, the bar open so people can come in and enjoy a beer. We want to make it a really nice place to be.”
