Peterborough buffet restaurant adds Turkish to its world cuisine menu
Paul Sharma is looking to put a stop-start 15 months behind him when the doors to his Peterborough city centre restaurant reopen - again - this month.
2020 World Buffet in New Road has been closed since before last Christmas - with takeaways not viable and no suitable outside space to allow alfresco dining in recent weeks.
So to make sure customers have added reason to visit there have been a few changes to what is on offer in time for May 17 when restrictions are eased to allows customers inside.
“We will be welcoming people back as a self-service buffet with everything we offered previously in terms of cuisine - Thai Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Italian - with something extra,” said Paul, who opened the venue the day before lockdown in March last year.
“We will have a new Turkish grill installed - manned by a Turkish chef - and we hope the beautifully grilled lamb, chicken and kebabs will be an extra attraction for customers.
“We have a restaurant in Stamford and there are a couple of very popular Turkish restaurants there - so there is definitely a demand for Middle Eastern-style cuisine. We will also have a new dessert section offering something a little different.”
The fixed price all you can eat menus will be in operation seven days a week.
