Food and drink: Nick at Embe calls it a day
Nick Rutha has called time on his Embe Caribbean and African restaurant on Burghley Road after a five-year stint.
“We are sad to announce, that after nearly five years of trade, Embe restaurant is now closed. Thank you to all of our customers - those who had only just found us, and those who have visited us for years,” he said this week.

Hide AdNick cites high overheads, and not enough business to balance it, as well as being in not the right location
But he added: “The city is growing but only the “cathedral area” in my opinion. It is very hard for the restaurants outside the city centre, and we were only just outside it.
“I would like to do it again but with the right location.
“I would like to thank every one for the support and custom they given me, family and staff at Embe Restaurant.”
On a happier note a new Turkish restaurant opened for business last week on the corner of Lincoln Road and St Paul’s Road in Millfield. Efes offers authentic Turkish food and certainly looks impressive.
