Bill’s, in Church Street, which like all pubs, bars and restaurants closed as part of the pandemic restrictions in March, failed to reopen in July, prompting fears it might be gone for good.

The restaurant chain, however, insisted it was carrying out a phased reopening of its outlets nationwide, and last month a poster in the window declared it would be back on October 30.

This week it became clear that would not be happening with the venue still in a mothballed state.

And today a spokesperson for Bill’s said: “The restaurants are going to be opening gradually, some sooner than others. There is no update in regard to any closures.”
