But it will be another 10 days before the Cowgate pub reopens, giving punters the chance to see for themselves.

The Wetherspoon pub has been closed since October to allow the complete internal refurb, an extension at the rear and, of course, the stunning new courtyard garden food and drink area, complete with roof garden and retractable sun awning.

Manager Chris Parkes, a fixture at the pub since 2005, took these at night - ahead of the March 17 reopening, when the interior will be revealed.

Chris said: “Myself and my team will look forward to welcoming customers back into The Draper’s Arms and we are confident that they will be impressed by the new-look, larger pub, as well as the brand-new gardens.”

The reopening of The Draper’s completes the first part of the £2.2million investment in its city centre pubs by Wetherspoom.

The College Arms in Broadway will close for four weeks on March 24, reopening on April 21, after an £800,000 investment.
