The Chubby Castor, opened four years ago in the old Fitzwilliam Arms off the A47 at Castor, is a regular in the guide, noted for its modern British dishes.
Prevost, now at the Haycock Manor in Wansford, having relocated from Peterborough city centre, is another restaurant that is well known and appreciated locally.
For those happy to travel a little further, Rutland and Cambridge are well served when it comes to listings in the guide - with the two-Star rated Midsummer House and one Star Hambleton Hall the biggest names.
Lee Clarke on Prevost’s inclusion in the guide.

Michelin Star-rated Hambleton Hall . What Michelin say: When it comes to the great country house hotels of England, this was certainly one of the first. When it opened in 1980 it was considered ground-breaking, and a feeling of luxury still pervades today. The traditionally styled interior with its antique furnishings, rich fabrics and antique oil portraits is a thing of beauty and its tranquil setting on the shore of Rutland Water is nothing short of idyllic. Don’t miss drinks on the terrace if the weather allows! Aaron Patterson has headed up the stoves since 1992 and there’s a dependability to the cooking here; accomplished seasonal dishes have a classical base with distinct flavours and plenty of modern touches. Bread comes from their own artisan bakery and the 400-bin wine list is a real labour of love. Smooth, old-school service completes the picture. Photo: Midlands

Bib Gourmand-rated Hitchen's Barn, Oakham; What Michelin say: When their lease came to an end, the owners of the Berkeley Arms in Wymondham upped and moved to this pretty little stone barn. It has a shabby chic bar and a rustic dining room and is run by a bubbly young team. The appealing menu of modern British dishes is fiercely seasonal and can change up to twice a day.

Dom Clarke at The Bib Gourmand Stag and Hounds at Burrough on the Hill. What Michelin say: Beside the Parish Brewery is this traditional village pub; find yourself a cosy corner and settle in amongst the locals and their dogs. The concise weekly menu has plenty of appeal and offers fresh, recognisable dishes that show an experienced hand is in the kitchen; lunch is great value. Photo: Midlands

Two Michelin Star-rated Midsummer House, Cambridge: What Michelin say: A beautiful Victorian house with a lovely conservatory extension hosts this stylish restaurant. It’s set in an idyllic location overlooking Midsummer Common and the delightful first floor lounge and terrace make the perfect spot for drinks, looking out over the garden and the River Cam. Experienced chef-owner Daniel Clifford has run this restaurant for over 20 years and his experience shines through. He, Head Chef Mark Abbott and their team are not the sort to rest on their laurels. Dishes continually evolve and, although they have a classic base, are packed full of personality and originality; this is a kitchen which is not afraid to push the boundaries. Luxury ingredients are generously used, flavours are measured, there’s an appealing range of different textures and many of the dishes are finished off at the table. JcHgj5xpAT3dKV6IRWVT
