Exhibition inspired by artist's travels to Australia
It is a mixed media artist/musician’s representation of the country’s resilience, beauty and natural diversity.
The works acknowledge the resourcefulness of the people by using found and recycled objects, and are accompanied by extracts from her diaries.

Hide AdAs a connective, an especially composed soundtrack of ‘bush’ sounds gives an audible essence of the wild, wilful and often hostile landscape.
The collection of paintings, pottery, prints, baskets, collages, textiles, installations and sculptures reference the colours, textures and most importantly ‘light’, of the landscape and all that is contained within it.
Kathryn says: “ My trips have been charted on a map with corresponding extracts from the diaries which in turn relate to the exhibits.
“Working directly from my diaries, the majority of which have tended to be in watercolour for ease and convenience of ‘travelling light’, my interpretation of these records have manifested themselves in a variety of forms and materials.”
Travelling Light is at The Yarrow Gallery, New Street, Oundle, from Saturday until March 12.
