England's finest fly to the Key for WW2 play
Set in 1940, the play follows the fortunes of those brave men who flew Wellington bombers from airfields in Lincolnshire, and their families who waited for news of them. The story centres on Patricia , an actress who has married a Flight Lieutenant in haste but her previous love, a famous Hollywood film actor, returns to England to ‘claim’ her. Who will she choose?
Playgoers’ actors travelled to the air museum at Spilsby, Lincs to pose beside World War 2 aircraft and in reconstructed Operations’ rooms in order to soak up the era and be more authentic in their portrayals.
