In 1983 I snapped the smartly-dressed cool dude Dennis Daly in the doorway of the Marcus Garvey club in Cromwell Road, writes Peterborough street photographer Chris Porsz.

He said It was like a second home, a great big family atmosphere with lots of joy and laughter, dramas and many great memories.

Dennis was surprised and saddened when I recently told him it was destroyed by fire and moved, not long after I had taken his picture.

Dennis has a daughter and now mixes his music with a job as a driving instructor.

He added: “I have always had a passion for music since a little kid and I’m a self-taught bass player. I am also a producer and have just released an album called Revelation with Dubquake records. I have been on tour since April playing at festivals in Europe.”

Almost all of my 300 Reunions are taken in the same place in Peterborough but in 2016 I went to London to be reunited and retake Dennis’ picture after only 33 years!
