Jo Bennis, Chief Nurse at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am incredibly proud of the team for their recent achievement. They have gone above to improve our overseas nurses’ experience, with a specific focus on Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). The team have worked hard to create an ‘OSCE boot camp’ that empowered learners and as a result our pass rate went from 53% to 90%. It has also received lots of positive praise from our overseas nurses who have found the boot camp style very helpful.”

Nurses and Midwives, who have trained outside of the European Union are required to pass the OSCE as part of their Nursing and Midwifery Council registration process. The test assesses an applicant’s ability to apply their nursing knowledge and skills in a simulated clinical setting.

The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 2 December.
