According to NHS Digital, in 2018/19 there were 20 admissions for every 100,000 people in England due to obesity, with 11,117 admissions in total.

The vast majority (8,237) were females (30 admissions per 100,000 people), compared to 2,880 males (11 admissions per 100,000 people).

In Peterborough, there were 21 admissions for every 100,000 people - a total of 40 people. Of those, 15 were males and 25 females.

The East of England average was 15, while in Cambridgeshire there were 14 admissions per 100,000 people.

For admissions where obesity was either a primary or secondary factor, rather than the only factor, the average was 1,615 per 100,000 people in England.

The figure was 1,105 in Peterborough and 1,224 in Cambridgeshire.
