The five Peterborough neighbourhoods with a COVID rate above 400 – as cases continue to rise across the city

Number of recorded cases in city increased by 170 in the past week

The number of COVID cases in Peterborough is continuing to rise – with the city seeing an extra 170 cases in the past week.

In the seven days up to July 8 there were a total of 634 cases recorded in the city, giving a rate of 312.9 cases per 100,000 people. The rate in England is 309.4.

Only two out of 22 Peterborough neighbourhoods saw a drop in cases over the seven days.

Peterborough’s case rate is now at its highest level since April 14, and has risen on 13 consecutive days.

There have been at least 100 patients with COVID in hospitals run by North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford & Rutland) for seven consecutive days. The last similar run ended on May 1 (when there were 43 consecutive days with 100 or more patients in the hospitals).
