In a creative social media post, Cambridgeshire police said the ten 'rebels' were caught in 'Millfieldenium' and 'believed they were invincible, laughing in the face of a disease that spread across the land.'

The social media post, put on the Policing Peterborough Facebook page yesterday, said: "Once upon a time in a land very very near, Millfieldenium, there was a group of people that did not care for the rules. These rebels were fearless and believed they were invincible, laughing in the face of a disease that spread across the land.

"The protectors of the realm descended onto the land to protect the many, and with their mighty quills and parchment they inflicted retribution on these Rebels...10! Rebels to be precise.

"One Rebel...The Lone Ranger...thought he could outsmart the protectors by giving them several names, ages and addresses but he thought wrong.

"The Lone Ranger was taken to the Dungeon for his Villainous behaviour, where he will remain. He will be fed only broth and will sleep next to the bog of eternal stench."

Today a spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire police said the arrested man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of breaching the Coronavirus Act in Fulbridge Road, Peterborough, at about 3.30pm yesterday. He was released from custody this morning.

The spokeswoman added: "A total of ten fixed penalty notices were handed out in the Millfield area yesterday, all of which were separate, individual incidents.

"The man who was arrested (one of the ten people) was arrested because he was in the Millfield area, not doing any essential tasks, for a long period of time.

"Officers attempted to engage with him and encouraged him to move on multiple times but he kept returning. The man then failed to provide his home address on a number of occasions for the ticket to be issued so that’s why the arrest was made."
