Support to stay at home for city residents continuing to ‘shield’ beyond July

Peterborough residents receiving free government food and medicine deliveries or care under the coronavirus support programme will continue to receive this until the end of July, when shielding is paused.

Priority supermarket delivery slots provided by seven supermarkets will continue beyond the end of July for people already signed up for support.

Residents are asked to consider whether their medicines can be collected from the pharmacy and delivered by family, friends, a carer or a volunteer.

Those who are not able to access food or medicines via these methods can contact the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Co-ordination Hub for advice and guidance by completing an “I need help form” here or ringing 0345 045 5219 Monday-Friday 8am to 6pm.

The NHS Volunteer Responder scheme is also available for help collecting shopping, medicine or other essential supplies, or just for someone to talk to. Call them free on 0808 1963646.
