Staff isolating after Covid cases amongst staff at Ikea in Peterborough

A number of staff at Ikea’s distribution centre in Peterborough have been confirmed to be isolating after testing positive for Covid-19.

The Peterborough Telegraph has been informed that 13 members of staff at the distribution centre at Kingston Park on Fletton Avenue have tested positive for Covid and are self-isolating as a result.

Ikea have confirmed that a number of staff are isolating and have insisted that the warehouse will remain open and continue to operate as normal in the meantime.

Barbara Harrison, Peterborough Central Distribution Centre Manager, said: “We are aware that a number of co-workers in our Peterborough Central Distribution Centre have tested positive for COVID-19. All affected co-workers are isolating at home on full pay.

“The health and safety of our co-workers is our top priority and we have extremely robust safety measures in place, including social distancing, protective screens, additional regular cleaning and mandatory temperature checks for all, to further prevent risk of infection.

“As always, we continue to monitor and manage the situation in accordance with our usual processes and Government guidelines.”
