The number of patients at Peterborough City Hospital has been rising as the COVID pandemic continues. Yesterday North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford and Rutland Hospitals, said there were 312 COVID patients being treated at the hospitals.Today Graham Wilde, Chief Operating Officer for North West Anglia Foundation Trust said: “Due to the high number of covid patients being treated in our hospitals we have made changes to some of the services we provide, including postponing some non-urgent operations and introducing ‘virtual clinics’ so that we can continue to provide outpatient services safely, without the need to come into hospital.

“We are constantly reviewing the situation with clinicians and our partners to continue to restore more services as soon as it is safe to do so.”

The trust confirmed that urgent cancer treatment has not been impacted at this time.
