Services are normally held on April 25, which is ANZAC Day at the graveside of Sgt Thomas Hunter - known as the Lonely Anzac - in Broadway Cemetery in Peterborough. The service is attended by school children, veterans, dignitaries and serving members of the armed forces.

However, Peterborough City Council said that the service had been cancelled this year.

ANZAC Day is one of the most important days of the year for Australians and New Zealanders, as they remember sacrifices made during war.

Sgt Hunter died at Peterborough Hospital in 1916, after being seriously injured in battle during the First World War.

Peterborough City Council is currently looking at arrangements for how the 75th anniversary of VE day will be marked in the city on Friday May 8. The lockdown measures will still be in place for the bank holiday. A council spokesman said they hope to have an update soon.
