Octagon Medical Practice have confirmed that the Westgate Surgery will close for ‘a few days’ and all staff will instead be working from the Thomas Walker Surgery in Princes Street.
The Thomas Walker Surgery has been a major surgery for giving out the Covid-19 vaccine this month. So much so that Peterborough City Council have drawn up plans to prevent vehicles from travelling eastbound between Dogsthorpe and Park Road, as well as westbound on Huntly Grove between Park Road and Granville Street to ease the flow of traffic.
During the closure, all calls will be diverted towards the Thomas Walker Surgery with the numbers remaining the same for Westgate patients.
A statement on the Octagon Facebook page said: “Due to severe staff shortages as of next Monday, the 25th January 2021, we are unfortunately having to close the Practice for a few days.
“All available staff will be working from the Thomas Walker Surgery.

“The telephone lines will be diverted to the Thomas Walker Surgery so please use the same number as you do currently.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but we are unable to keep Westgate open and operate safely.
“As soon as we are able to, we will reopen Westgate and will update this page as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience.”
