Chief executive of Age UK, Melanie Wicklen, said: "The amazing donation from O&H will support Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in our response to the Covid-19 outbreak.

"We are supporting one of the most vulnerable groups in terms of effects the virus can have on older people’s health and this will help provide support to continue the services and adapt to the changing needs."

PCVS will also be distributing some of the donation to smaller groups so it will benefit even more of the community throughout Peterborough.

Leonie McCarthy, chief executive of PCVS, said: ‘We were thrilled with this donation which is supporting a number of PCVS members with their efforts in tackling the Covid 19 crisis covering all areas of the emergency from food provision to those in crisis to support for those with disability related needs."
