Number of COVID deaths at Peterborough City Hospital rises by 12 as the number of patients receiving treatment breaks 200 barrier

Twelve new COVID deaths have been recorded at Peterborough City Hospital - and the number of coronavirus patients being treated by the trust which runs the site has broken the 200 barrier.

The number of deaths related to coronavirus at Peterborough City Hospital now stands at 312 - up from 300 when the figures were last released on Sunday.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 443 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 131 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 312 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and the majority of those had pre-existing health conditions. We are currently caring for 201 patients with Coronavirus in our hospitals.

"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients' families and loved ones at this difficult time."
