Coronavirus: Health body wants experiences of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire residents during pandemic

Healthwatch Peterborough, the independent champion for people using health and care services in the area, is calling for people to share their experiences from the last six weeks.
“Things are very different out there - and we really want to know what it’s been like for people,” explained Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CEO Sandie Smith.

Hide AdPublic feedback is needed because it highlights how the local NHS and care services are managing. By feeding back people’s experiences to those running the healthcare system, local people should be better protected.
“People have already told us about pharmacies and how some people have had difficulty getting their medication. We have fed that back and we are asking people to be patient. Pharmacies, like everybody else, are working extremely hard to make sure everybody is safe and everybody gets the help they need,” said Sandie.
With so many temporary changes to health and care, people may be confused how and where to get help.
However, Sandie said that the Healthwatch Information Service – which is free for anybody to contact - can help point people in the right direction and explain what their options are.

Hide AdShe also voiced concern over fewer people going for appointments or attending local A&E departments since the pandemic started.
“It is worrying,” she acknowledged and urged the public not to delay getting help from the NHS if they needed it.
