Coronavirus: ‘Avoid non-essential travel in or out of Peterborough’
and live on Freeview channel 276
Peterborough has moved into Tier 3 due to its rising coronavirus infection rate, but the rest of Cambridgeshire remains in Tier 2 with slightly less stringent rules, including pubs and restaurants being allowed to remain open.
Many residents who live in areas such as Whittlesey and Yaxley regularly commute to and from Peterborough, either for work, shopping or to visit family.

She told the Peterborough Telegraph: “It’s very clear in the guidance people in Tier 3 should avoid travelling out of their area and vice versa except for essential purposes like work and caring responsibilities.
“Anything other than those reasons it is not advised to travel between areas in Tier 3 and other areas.”
Guidance issued by the Government states that you should avoid travelling outside your area, including for overnight stays, other than where necessary, such as:
. For work
. For education
. To access voluntary, charitable or youth services.
. Because of caring responsibilities
. For moving home
. To visit your support bubble
. For a medical appointment or treatment.

If you live in a Tier 3 area you must continue to follow Tier 3 rules when you travel to a Tier 1 or Tier 2 area and you must not stay with anyone you do not live with elsewhere in the UK or visit their home (unless you share a support bubble), the Government said.
