Year 5 & 6 Open evening at Stanground Academy
Raising expectations is key for this academy which has pledged to help every student achieve more than they could imagine.
The academy has just celebrated its best ever results and says its vision is to provide a world class education that will challenge, inspire, and enable every student to flourish beyond their expectations.
It’s not just academic achievements, but a desire to help young people grow in all ways to become well-rounded individuals.
The academy said “all students will graduate from Stanground Academy, confident in their abilities, kind in their approach and equipped with the skills to be successful active citizens of the future.”
“Most successful organisations are underpinned by a strong sense of value, in turn, these values support the efficient operation of the organisation and help everyone to “live” their culture,” said Matthew Van Lier, Principal.
The academy’s summer results were their best ever and demonstrate that Stanground Academy pupils can and do achieve better than many of their peers nationally.
A word from the principal
Matthew Van Lier, Principal at Stanground, said: “Our pupils are amazing; they have experienced more disruption to their education than any other generation and despite this they have delivered a set of results this year that make the Stanground Team feel incredibly proud.
"Our academy is a place of high expectations where pupils and staff share a clear understanding of the vision and values which shape our culture and enable us to succeed together in harmony. We care passionately about every member of our academy community and will do whatever it takes to provide them with the opportunities to achieve their true potential. We know how strong academic qualifications influence the life chances of our young people and recognise the important role that both teachers and parents play in this process.
“Our curriculum is the backbone of what we do, it is constantly being evaluated to ensure we can provide your child with the skills and knowledge to ensure their future success. It is both broad and balanced and pupils have the opportunity to select additional specialist subjects to study to GCSE in Year 10.
“We are proud of our extra-curricular programme which contributes to the development of the whole child. These activities can include learning to play a musical instrument, participation in the annual show, a sports team or enjoying the challenge of an expedition with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Indeed, if our pupils have a particular interest, they have the opportunities to lead clubs of their own!”
“We look forward to sharing our exciting vision for the future of our pupils at our Y5 and Y6 Open Evening and look forward to working intelligently and collaboratively to ensure that they reach their true potential. In a world that seems to be changing daily you can be assured that our vision and values will remain a constant and together we will develop successful citizens of the future."
