Lime Academy Watergall and Bretton Community Pre-School, both in Watergall, Bretton, announced last Wednesday that they were closing their doors for the rest of the week.

The primary school was closed as a precaution to allow for a deep clean to take place after a family recently returned from northern Italy.

The pre-school said a child had recently returned from an area currently on lockdown.

Both confirmed to the Peterborough Telegraph this morning that they were open again with everything returning to normal.

So far there have been no confirmed cases of the infection in Peterborough.

It is up to schools to decide whether to close while testing is taking place, with both Arthur Mellows Village College in Glinton and Market Deeping Community Primary School taking a different stance to the schools in Bretton by opting to stay open.
