Peterborough primary school pupil excluded after '˜pen-knife' incident

A 10-year-old pupil has been excluded from a Peterborough primary school after allegedly threatening a fellow pupil with a '˜pen-knife'.

The incident took place at Highlees Primary School in Ashton Road, Westwood.

Executive principal Emma Ward said: “The isolated incident was dealt with in line with the school’s behaviour policy and keeping children safe is the main priority of the school.”

Hugh Greenway, chief executive of The Elliot Foundation which runs Highlees Primary School added: “I am aware that a Y6 pupil brought a multi-function tool into school.

“The school reported the incident to the trust.

“The pupil’s behaviour has been investigated and dealt with in line with the school’s behaviour policy”
