The results come after the government announced that exams had been cancelled and that student grades would be awarded based on official estimates from exam boards this year.

The academy, which is part of Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust, is already seeing many students progressing to their preferred universities, despite the turbulent national picture.

Rob Grover, Principal at Nene Park Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students for the sheer hard work, effort and commitment they have shown over the past few years, and for the way they have handled the significant challenges this year. After initial analysis of the grades that our students received from the various exam boards, we are intending to appeal where the grade calculated is not in our opinion a fair representation of student’s work and ability.

“We are very pleased to see a number of our students being accepted into their universities, with many students choosing to pursue careers in key worker industries, such as nursing, teaching, and midwifery.

“While there are no headline performance measures this year, we are delighted that many students continued to secure some of the highest results.

“Of course, we are disappointed that we can’t celebrate and congratulate with our students as we would have done normally today. We will be calling every student individually to discuss their grades and make sure they have the support they need – we also look forward to seeing and sharing celebratory images and messages on social media.”
