As part of its community investment strategy, CKH has offered training and support in the community through its three hubs in Peterborough.

But the housing association is now looking to expand its service and adapt to remote training during lockdown.

‘CKH Learning’ will offer tenants, and the wider community, the chance to learn new skills and receive support in their homes.

Initial courses will be offered to CKH tenants, helping them to maintain their homes. CKH’s Careers Club, providing people with information and skills to assist them into work, will also be available to all local residents.

In addition, CKH will be moving its programme of self-improvement courses funded by Peterborough City College’s Community Learning Trust onto the e-learning platform.

The first courses in this programme will include its ‘Feeling Stuck’ course which helps people take the first steps back into learning, along with its volunteering course that give people the skills they need to get into volunteering.

CKH chief executive Claire Higgins said: “As a growing and expanding company we are always looking for new and innovative ways to offer our services to our increasing customer base. I hope that CKH Learning will be a fantastic asset for our customers, enabling us to offer our training to more and more people.

“With lockdown continuing we are unable to offer the in-person support we know people need, but CKH Learning will help to fill the gap, helping people to get the skills they need to get into work or transform their lives. This is a really exciting time for us and I am looking forward to hearing some great success stories from our e-learners.”
