Catherine Wilson took up the post at NeneGate School at the start of this term, having worked as a Senior Leader at St John Fisher School since 2002.

Catherine said: "“Taking on a first post as Head Teacher in the middle of a global pandemic is going to present unique challenges, however I feel very fortunate to be part of the NeneGate family.
"It is a good school with a strong and supportive staff team and a unique student body.

"Jonathan Lewis and his team at the Local Authority have also provided superb support for Head Teachers and advocacy for the education profession throughout the last year.

"The highlight so far has been getting to know the students individually and understanding their approaches to learning. NeneGate prides itself on being consistent in its core principles, but flexible in its approach and that is key in ensuring progress for the students in our care.

"The school has an exciting future as a centre of specialist expertise supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. I feel privileged to be in a position to lead on the next phase of its development and look forward to working with the whole school community.”
