With the help of Pearce Hire, the school will have produced more than 1,000 pieces of equipment by the end of this week.
Moreover, at home staff have been busy making scrubs for hospital staff and ‘ear savers’ - headbands with buttons on that allow wearers to hook the elastic face masks on to stop the rubbing that occurs after wearing masks for 12 hours a day.
Catharine Park from the school’s DT department said: “The King’s School is proud to be a part of this effort to do the right thing in difficult times. We have a range of skills and equipment that means we can manufacture quality PPE items but are struggling with a dwindling stock of resources.
