Principal Dawn White has contacted parents telling them: “Unfortunately, due to high levels of staff absence, we are unable to safely open and operate the college.

“Therefore, we are having to take the difficult decision, after consulting with Aspire Learning Trust and the local authority, to close as of Wednesday, March 18 until the end of the Easter break.”

The principal added: “Please rest assured that we are working on a plan for providing students with work, both in the short and long term, which we will communicate with you within the next 24 hours, including instructions in relation to any planned examinations due to take place prior to the Easter break.”

The news comes on the same day that Arthur Mellows Village College in Glinton, Peterborough, also announced it was closing due to staff shortages.
