Based in the Walton area of Peterborough, Queen Katharine Academy has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, garnering a Good Ofsted rating as well as awards from TES and Pearson in 2021. The academy’s fantastic buildings, resources, and facilities make it stand out as offering first-rate education in the city of Peterborough.

Lynn Mayes, principal, said: “Each and every one of us at Queen Katharine Academy are looking forward to welcoming Year 6 pupils and their parents to our school on September 30, from 3.30pm.

“As soon as you step inside our academy, you’ll be able to see why we’re a great choice for your child. We take pride in providing an innovative and exciting education that helps our students to change their own lives and those of others, to transform the future and to shape society and the world.

“Our broad and balanced curriculum is designed for all students, regardless of their starting points, and is one of the many reasons we are known as an inclusive centre of educational excellence. The curriculum is supported by a variety of high-quality enrichment opportunities and aims to provide progression as students move up the school, equipping them with the tools they need to access higher education or employment.

“QKA Sixth Form has also established a well-founded reputation as an excellent Sixth Form centre in the city of Peterborough. Our most recent Sixth Form examination results saw students achieve an outstanding 100% pass rate with 49% of A-Level and equivalent grades awarded at A* to B. Once again, this brilliant progress places us within the top 10% of all schools nationally.

“At our open evening event, you’ll be able to tour our impressive school and see our great facilities first-hand. There will be talks from myself and our Trust’s CEO Mick Gernon, and you’ll be able to take part in lots of subject activities, demonstrations, and taster sessions. There will also be opportunities for you to talk to senior leadership, Year Seven teams, SEND and admissions co-ordinators. We look forward to seeing you soon.”
