Lincolnshire County Council, which runs the service, said it had been advised by police to cancel the service tomorrow.

Next week, on Saturday, June 6, the council will be increasing its capacity to help everyone dispose of the waste.

A council spokesman said: “We apologise for this unforeseen inconvenience, and if you do have waste you need to urgently clear, the Household Waste Recycling Centre at Bourne will be open as usual.”
