Peterborough taxi firm steps in to help workers hit by John Lewis closure

The closure of the store in the city was announced yesterday, leaving 318 staff facing the prospect of losing their jobs.
To help those workers, Goldstar Diamond Cars have offered workers a free taxi ride to job interviews to help them back into work.

“Hearing of the saddened news of our Peterborough store closure GoldStar Diamond Cars would like to support all existing John Lewis staff through these difficult times.
“We will be offering free taxis to all existing staff for any future job interviews they may have within a radius of 20 miles as long as we have proof that they are employed by John Lewis.
“Peterborough is united as one, GoldStar Diamond Cars are here to support all the community through these difficult testing times.
