Peterborough car specialists to build new showroom

Long-established car specialist Stanground Autos is to construct a new showroom in Peterborough.

The firm, which has several sites in the city, has bought a 0.67 acre plot on the new Kingston Park development in Hampton.

It intends to building 10,000 sq ft car showroom which has been designed by Barnack Estates, of Peterborough.

The showroom has already been granted planning approval by Peterborough City Council and building work should start next month with the firm hoping to be trading from the new site in the new year.

Managing director of Stanground Autos, George Hearty, said: “We are very excited about this new venture.

“The location of the new Kingston park showroom will give our clients excellent easy access from all parts of Peterborough.”

Rob Facer, managing director of Barnack Estates, said: “Stanground Autos are a well-established name in Peterborough.

“They will join a number of notable occupiers including Remark Group plus a motorbike and accessories showroom, Capital Hair, which is currently fitting out its unit, and Vanquish Autos on site.

“We are also in the process of constructing a training base for the Vogal Group.”

The sale was handled by Barker Storey Matthews, which is currently marketing units for sale or to let on Lakeside Court, a trade/ showroom scheme built on the Kingston park development.
