Laundrapp is a on-demand laundry and dry cleaning app linked, via a central control, to a number of dry cleaners across the city.

Its founders say the business provides customers a simpler way to do their laundry and dry cleaning by offering a service that collects, cleans and delivers anywhere across the city.

Prices start from £2 including a free door-to-door collection and delivery service.

The business was created in London in 2014 and has just been rolled out across Peterborough, which is one of 25 cites and towns currently covered by the service.

Co-founder and chief executive Edward Relf said: “Laundrapp is turning an entire multi billion-pound laundry industry on it’s head and launching across the Peterborough area is both a thrilling and exciting challenge.

“We set out to revolutionise the laundry and dry cleaning industry and my head is spinning with the success and growth we’re experiencing.”

The business was created in 2014 with a £4 million investment. It claims in 35 weeks Laundrapp has been downloaded more than 100,000 times cleaning 250,000 million plus garments with the business doubling in size over recent months.

Mr Relf said: “The expansion into Peterborough makes Laundrapp the first company to expand this type of on-demand service nationally as it continues to pioneer the “on-demand” market connecting physical world services to smart digital technology.”

He added: “We are turning the smartphone into a remote control for people’s laundry.”

The Laundrapp service now operates across more than 25 cities and towns across the UK including London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and Liverpool.
