The charity was chosen by new staff at the store, and will also receive £250 of B&M vouchers to support the work they do.

The new store manager, Tracy Shippam, said: “My team chose the Soup Kitchen because the amazing work they do for the homeless needs recognising and rewarding. I couldn’t imagine not having a home to go home to or a freshly cooked meal to hand, this is why it’s so important the charity is supported so they can continue to help those who need it.

“We wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do and hope that our donation can help them to continue to help the homeless and disadvantaged community.

On Saturday, March 18, customers will also be able to enter the B&M Big Prize Bonanza, a free game show taking place at the store to carry the atmosphere on into the weekend. Those who enter will be in with a chance of winning prizes including a Slow Cooker, B&M vouchers, Cadbury’s Chocolates and much more.

The former Marks and Spencer store has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment programme and created 60 new jobs.
