Jobs safe says county estate agent after completing acquisition of competitor

Sharman Quinney, which has outlets in Peterborough, Stamford and Northamptonshire, has just acquired the 17-year-old Gilbert & Thomas business.

A spokeswoman said: “It’s very much business as usual and I can confirm no job losses as a result of this acquisition and founder Vaughan Gilbert will remain in charge.”

The new addition of Gilbert & Thomas, which employs 10 people, means that Sharman Quinney’s network now totals 20 branches.

Gilbert & Thomas covers the county of Rutland and surrounding areas from its offices in Oakham and Uppingham.

The business will continue to trade under its existing brand.
