Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson, in the presence of senior members of the agricultural industry, was invited to open the development at the £80 million-a year-turnover Dalmark Group, in Eye.

The development includes an extension to the grain and seed trading office, a 100 sq m central atrium, three meeting rooms, a gymnasium and improved catering and rest room facilities.

Construction work began in November last year and has just been completed. The investment is in addition to the group’s recent investment of about £2 million on seed cleaning, treating and storage.

Managing director of Dalton Seeds, Peter Fox, said: “We pride ourselves on being able to attract and retain the best staff in the industry and this development is a key component of that aim.”

“This development is a clear indication of the shareholders’ long term commitment to Dalton Seeds, Dalmark Grain and UK agriculture as a whole.”
