Evri launches recruitment drive with 126 jobs available in Peterborough this Christmas
Parcel giant Evri has launched a recruitment drive with 126 vacancies available over the Christmas period in Peterborough.
The company has announced plans to recruit for the new vacancies as it prepares to deliver over 4 million parcels a day on its busiest days between Black Friday and Christmas.
The delivery company, which now handles more than one billion parcels a year, is also offering an enhanced package for new couriers in the region, with an additional ‘welcome payment’ of £250.
To support its accelerating growth, Evri is seeking to expand its self-employed courier network in the region, with opportunities available that enable people to deliver parcels in their local communities, following flexible working patterns and the ability to build delivery rounds close to home.

Alongside this, owner-driver positions are also available in the region in the company’s DHL eCommerce UK network, following the merger of the two businesses last year.
In a first for the business, applicants do not necessarily need their own van, with the company introducing a new "no van, no problem" option aimed at widening access to the roles.
Successful applicants can access benefits through Evri's partnership with Onsi, including early access to pay, GP appointments and retail discounts.
Eligible couriers can also receive support towards switching to an electric vehicle through the company's Go Electric scheme.
Gary Robinson, Director of Final Mile, said: “As we head into our busiest period of the year, we’re on the hunt for people in the local area, who are keen to join our courier network.
“As parcel volumes continue to grow, our couriers and drivers have the opportunity to increase their earning potential in a role that provides both flexibility, whether that be a few agreed days weekly or more consistent work across the week across our UK network, but with the consistency of regular work.
“Our community couriers help to keep their local communities connected through their deliveries, becoming a familiar face that is recognised by residents.”
