Double awards success for Peterborough's Kamarin Computers

Peterborough-based Kamarin Computers has been named a finalist in not one but two important award schemes.

Firstly, it is one of just five companies shortlisted for ‘Customer Experience / Management Solution of the Year’ in the European IT & Software Excellence Awards 2017.

Kamarin beat off 400 other applicants for its work on home and DIY store Taskers’ electronic point of sale (EPOS) systems. The other finalists in the running for this international award are large and significant businesses, including Deutsche Bank, so for Kamarin to be among them is a credit to its small but hardworking team.

More locally, Kamarin has also reached the finals of the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards in the ‘Business of the Year less than 50’ category’. This reflects the company’s endeavours and achievements over the last twelve months, of which there are many!

However, Kamarin will have to wait to find out whether it has scooped either of these gongs. The winners will be announced at glittering award ceremonies held on 30 March in London (European IT & Software Excellence Awards 2017) and on April 05 in Huntingdon (SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards).

George Smith, Kamarin’s MD, is delighted: “We are at an important stage in the growth of our business, with turnover up four times what it was five years ago and our client base rapidly expanding. To be recognised both nationally and regionally for our achievements feels fantastic! I attribute this success to the hard work put in by our staff so I’d like to publicly thank them for their loyalty and support.”

“Representatives from Kamarin will be attending both award ceremonies,” George continued. “Obviously we are keeping our fingers crossed to win but the competition is stiff in each of our shortlisted categories, so we will just have to wait and see. Best of luck to the other finalists though!”
